- Consider donating your cancelled ticket amount – you should be able to receive a tax receipt for future deductions.
- Write words of encouragement, share cute animal memes or send heartfelt emojis to artists and creatives on social media.
- Repost arts content across your social channels.
- Reach out to people who work in the creative industries – ask if they are okay.
- Engage with art online. Take a virtual tour, browse art collections online, sign up to a digital music program, stream a live performance, join a reading festival.
- Enjoying art online? Make a taxable donation in lieu of a ticket price.
- Stream music or buy music online from local artists. We recommend Spotify, Bandcamp and Soundcloud.
- Buy a book online and support your local authors. Visit the Australian Independent Bookseller website to find your neighbourhood bookstore.
- Listen to your local community radio station.
- Subscribe to a podcast.
- Support freelance artists online – such as helpafreelancer.com.
- Buy an album or merchandise.
- Sign a petition to encourage financial support for the industry.
- Practice acts of kindness and encourage others to do the same.
